Jovanna has spent more than two decades inside clinical trial operations — 16 years as a clinical research associate, then as Founder & CEO of Spectrum Clinical Research, a Kansas City contract research organization she launched in 2021 and expanded to Miami in 2024.

Her work centers on aligning medical studies with the real needs of the community, widening access to no-cost medications for eligible participants, and using technology to improve healthcare outcomes. She also founded ClinMatchGO, a digital platform that matches patients to clinical trials and provides real-time transportation and compensation.

Pharmacy Shortage Solutions applies that same operational discipline to a problem hospital pharmacies face every day: reliable access to essential sterile medications.

Bret brings 32 years of hospital leadership with HCA Healthcare, beginning in 1992. He served as CFO of Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri, CEO of Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, Louisiana, and from 2018 to 2024 as CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center, the 285-bed hospital in Independence, Missouri.

At Centerpoint he led growth focused on culture, physician engagement, quality improvement, trauma expansion, graduate medical education and long-term access to care across Eastern Jackson County — including guiding the hospital through the pandemic.

Today Bret chairs the Independence Chamber of Commerce, works as an entrepreneur, consultant and speaker, and is the author of Wisdom That Leads to Soul Rest.
